On the 22nd of June, the UCD DeepLab was delighted to welcome Prof. Débora Diniz, an anthropologist and international leader in reproductive justice and gender equality. Prof. Diniz spent the afternoon with our team and guests discussing experiences of feminist activism in different countries, political challenges for advancing women’s rights, and the role of academic research in a more inclusive society. While answering participants’ questions and lively comments, she shared her knowledge on a wide range of issues in bioethics, abortion rights, and public health. Her presence was inspiring, especially for the early career researchers in the audience who admire Prof. Diniz’s work and experience.
