We are thrilled that over the past several months, Deeplab has hosted a total of seven visiting students and researchers, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to our ongoing projects. These talented individuals hail from renowned institutions worldwide, contributing to the collaborative and interdisciplinary spirit of our lab. We were fortunate to have the nearly the entire lab together at the start of May for a visiting researcher seminar.
The visiting researcher seminar on May 7 featured two insightful talks. Lucas dos Anjos, a Visiting Research Student from Unicamp State University of Campinas (2024), presented “Between Two Cities: Methodology Approaches for Fieldwork with Riders,” highlighting innovative strategies for conducting field research.
Vitáli Marques, a Visiting Research Student from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2023/2024), discussed “Impeachment and Political Crisis in Brazil: The Overthrow of Dilma Rousseff’s Government (2011-16),” offering a detailed analysis of the political turmoil during that period.
These talks provided valuable perspectives and stimulated engaging discussions among attendees. We look forward to welcoming more brilliant minds in the coming months, as future visitors continue to enrich Deeplab with their unique insights and expertise.
